Job Title: CNC Machine Miller – Nights

Location: Basildon

Hours: Monday–Thursday 19:30–04:30 / Friday 14:30–19:30

Pay: £18.54 per hour + 33% shift allowance

AMLR are looking for a CNC Machine Miller to join a leading aerospace manufacturer. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment, producing high-quality components to strict aerospace standards.

Key responsibilities for CNC Machine Miller:

  • Producing precision components from engineering drawings using CNC machines.
  • Setting and operating CNC milling machines efficiently and accurately.
  • Working with 3 and 5 Axis milling machines.
  • Producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and following manufacturing instructions.
  • Carrying out quality checks on finished components and ensuring work meets the required standard.
  • Using a wide variety of measuring equipment to inspect components.
  • Working independently and understanding all aspects of the manufacturing process.
  • Cleaning and maintaining CNC machines, associated equipment and the machine area.
  • Working in accordance with ISO 50001, 14001, 45001 and 9001 standards.
  • Supporting continual improvement across manufacturing, quality, health and safety, environmental, energy and sustainability management.
  • Supporting the Energy team by identifying opportunities for energy reduction and savings within the scope of the role.

Requirements for CNC Machine Miller:

  • Fully skilled, time-served CNC Setter/Operator with relevant certificates.
  • Experience setting and operating 3 and 5 Axis milling machines.
  • Previous experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using a wide range of measuring equipment.
  • Computer literate.
  • Excellent attention to detail and concentration to ensure consistently high-quality components.
  • Good practical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safe working practices.
  • Excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Normal colour vision.
