Shift: Night Shift

Hours: 44 hours per week

  • Monday to Thursday: 6:00pm – 6:00am

 

Salary:£51,480 per annum

 

About the Company

Our client is a global leader in industrial automation, specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke engineering solutions for leading brands worldwide.

 

Based at a modern 75,000 sq. ft. engineering and manufacturing facility in Wakefield, the business is experiencing continued growth and is looking to strengthen its machining team with an experienced CNC Miller – Programmer / Setter / Operator.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Miller to work on a varied range of low-volume, high-precision components and bespoke engineering projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, programme and operate HAAS 3-axis vertical machining centres (VF2 to VF9).
  • Manufacture precision component parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specified tolerances.
  • Carry out in-process inspection using appropriate measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and workmanship.
  • Keep the work area clean, organised and safe.
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required to support the production team.

 

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (desirable).

 

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience setting, programming and operating HAAS CNC milling machines.
  • Programming experience is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to use a range of precision inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
  • Ability to consistently produce components to tight tolerances.
  • Good awareness of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge and experience of 4th and 5th axis machining would be advantageous.
