CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

Trident Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller to join a well-established precision engineering business based in Portsmouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CNC machinist looking for a day shift position with flexible working hours. As long as the required core hours and 40-hour working week are completed, there is flexibility around your start and finish times.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Programming, setting and operating 3-axis CNC milling machines
• Working primarily with Hurco machinery
• Programming at the machine using Hurco WinMax controls
• Manufacturing precision-engineered components
• Working on airshafts and airshanks
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Carrying out tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments
• Inspecting finished components to ensure they meet required tolerances
• Working independently to produce high-quality components

What We're Looking For

The ideal CNC Miller will have:

• Previous experience as a CNC Miller / CNC Milling Programmer Setter Operator
• Strong 3-axis milling experience
• Experience programming CNC machines
• Hurco WinMax programming knowledge is highly beneficial
• Ability to read technical/engineering drawings
• Confident use of measuring equipment
• A strong precision engineering background

This position is specifically focused on 3-axis milling, so 5-axis experience is not required.

Hours

Day Shift – 40 hours per week

Flexible start and finish times are available, providing the agreed core hours and 40-hour working week are completed.
