CNC Miller – Setter / Operator in Manchester, Greater Manchester

Location: Manchester
Basic Rate: £19.82 per hour
Shift Rate: £23.78 per hour with 20% shift uplift
Hours: Rotating morning and afternoon shifts

Haich Recruitment is recruiting an experienced CNC Miller / Setter / Operator on behalf of an established precision engineering business based in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist looking to join a highly skilled engineering team working within a secure, high-quality manufacturing environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machinery, producing precision components to demanding specifications.

You do not need to be an experienced Mazak machinist, as training and development can be provided for candidates coming from other multi-axis machining backgrounds.

However, this is not a basic machine operating position. You must be confident taking responsibility for your own work and be capable of:

• Setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines

• Editing and adjusting programs at the machine

• Proving out programs and new jobs

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

• Making tooling and offset adjustments

• Carrying out dimensional and quality checks

• Troubleshooting machining issues

• Working independently to demanding engineering standards

Full programming from scratch or working through pages of CNC code is beneficial but not required, 

Machines / Controls

The site operates Mazak machinery using:

• Mazatrol Smooth X

• Mazatrol Matrix 2

Candidates with experience on other multi-axis CNC machinery and controls will also be considered, with Mazak training available.

About You

You should have previous experience as a CNC Miller, Setter/Operator or similar precision machining role.

Experience within aerospace, defence, nuclear, oil & gas or other high-precision engineering environments would be advantageous, not essential.

Due to the nature of the work and secure site, candidates must be able to satisfy the required security clearance requirements.
