We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering business that continues to invest in its people, technology and future growth. Due to increasing workloads, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Miller to join a skilled machining team on a permanent days-based shift.

This role would suit a capable CNC Miller who can confidently set and operate CNC milling machines with minimal supervision and takes pride in producing high-quality precision components.

CNC Miller – Setter/Operator Role

As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision-engineered components to drawing specifications. You will work closely with the wider engineering team to ensure quality, efficiency and continuous improvement across the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC milling machines independently.
  • Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to prove out new jobs.
  • Select appropriate tooling and make adjustments to optimise machining processes.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet specification.
  • Contribute ideas to improve productivity, quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Strong background in 3-axis CNC milling.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of tooling, cutting data and engineering materials.
  • Experience producing precision-machined components, including close-tolerance work.
  • Comfortable machining medium to larger-sized components.

Desirable

  • On-machine programming experience using FANUC controls.
  • Experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines.

CNC Miller Setter Operator What’s on Offer

  • £40,000-£45,000 Per Annum DOE
  • Days-based role start and finish times.
