Are you an apprenticeship trained CNC Miller?

Currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller to join a very busy specialist engineering company in Hyde.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis as applicable)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Create part programmes when necessary
  • Load programs, set tool offsets, and perform test runs
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job
  • Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments
  • Carry out in process inspection using measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges, etc.)
  • Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Identify and correct machining defects or errors
  • Follow health, safety, and quality procedures at all times
  • Record production data and report issues to supervisors or engineers

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller or CNC Machinist
  • Strong understanding of CNC milling operations and tooling
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
  • Knowledge of CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Heidenhain)
  • Experience with CAM software is an advantage
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Technical diploma or apprenticeship in machining or manufacturing
  • 2+ years of CNC milling experience (or as required by employer)

What you get

  • Salary starting at £18.37 per hour
  • Hours of work Mon to Thurs 7.45am – 5pm Fri 7.45 – 10.45am + regular overtime available
  • Pension contributions where the company contributes 5%
  • Generous holiday scheme, 25 days a year plus 8 statutory days also we offer service days where you get 1 extra day for every 5 years’ service.
  • All PPE and tools required to do their job safely provided.
