Location: Chorley

Job Type: Temp to Perm

Hours: 38 hours per week, 4-day working week

Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 7:15am to 5:15pm (30-minute unpaid break)



The Company

Our client is a well-established precision engineering company based in Chorley, providing high-quality machined components to a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join their skilled manufacturing team.



The Role

As a Skilled CNC Turner, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines to manufacture precision-engineered components to exact customer specifications. You will be expected to work independently, interpret technical engineering drawings and ensure all products meet the highest quality standards.



Key Responsibilities

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC Turning machines with Fanuc controls
  • Manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances
  • Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Selecting the correct tooling and machining methods for each job
  • Carrying out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
  • Working independently to prioritise workloads and meet production deadlines
  • Maintaining a safe and organised working environment
  • Identifying and resolving machining or programming issues
  • Ensuring components meet quality and dimensional requirements


Candidate Requirements

  • CNC Turner with a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls
  • Ability to work from technical engineering drawings without supervision
  • Capable of working independently and managing your own workload
  • Experience machining a variety of materials to tight tolerances
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Positive, reliable and proactive approach to work
