CNC Setter / Operator
Location: Hertford (Onsite)
Salary: £28,000–£32,000

My client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer, is looking for a CNC Setter / Operator to join its production team. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist with a strong background in CNC lathes and milling machines, working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC lathes and milling machines
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances and quality standards
• Inspect completed work and ensure accuracy throughout production
• Load and unload materials using lifting equipment
• Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient work area
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across production processes
• Work collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines

Requirements

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC machines
• Good understanding of Fanuc-controlled systems preferred
• Ability to read technical drawings and work to tight tolerances
• Experience inspecting and measuring own work
• Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
• Ability to manage workload effectively in a target-driven environment
• Apprentice trained or engineering qualification preferred
• Minimum 5 years' experience within a machining environment
