£13.00ph - £18.00ph depending on experience + Overtime

My client is a well-established, small but very busy subcontract engineering company carrying out a varied range of work across industries including Aerospace, Motorsport, Medical, Commercial and Oil & Gas. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced CNC Turner / Setter-Operator to join their team, setting and operating Doosan CNC Lathes.

The ideal candidate will have previous CNC turning experience, be confident setting and running machines, and be comfortable working to very tight tolerances. Experience with Doosan or Haas machinery would be advantageous, although full training on the specific machines can be provided.

Benefits:

• £13.00ph - £18.00ph depending on experience
• 7.00am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday
• Overtime available

• 20 days holiday, rising to 25 days with service, plus bank holidays

Duties:

• Setting and operating Doosan CNC Lathes
• Setting tools and offsets and making adjustments as required
• Proving jobs and ensuring machines are running correctly
• Setting up and running a variety of components
• Working to very fine tolerances, down to 20 microns
• Inspecting your own work using appropriate measuring equipment
• Maintaining quality and ensuring components are produced to drawing specifications

Experience:

• Previous CNC Turning experience is essential
• Previous setting and operating experience is essential
• Doosan experience would be preferable, although training will be provided on the specific machinery
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Experience working to tight tolerances
• Good understanding of inspection and measuring techniques
• Apprentice-trained would be advantageous, although relevant experience is more important
• Programming experience is not essential - this is primarily a setting and operating position
