A reputable and long‑established machining company in Redditch is seeking an experienced CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator to join their team. This permanent role offers competitive pay and overtime opportunities.

The successful candidate for the role of CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator will be responsible for setting and operating CNC sliding head machines, with a key requirement for twin‑turret, twin‑spindle experience. Programming experience is ideal but not essential — however, strong sliding‑head setting/operating experience is required.

Duties and responsibilities of CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator:

  • Set and operate CNC sliding head machines
  • Work confidently with twin‑turret, twin‑spindle configurations – essential
  • Carry out basic programming where required (full programming advantageous but not essential)
  • Focus on production of high-quality components
  • Maintain tooling, offsets, and machine condition throughout the shift
  • Occasional simple repeat change overs
  • Using measuring gauges
  • To produce components within the agreed standard time
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Working to tight tolerances and in process measurements
  • High precision tolerance works as well as volume
  • Quality control, working to customer specification

Skills/attributes required by successful candidate for the role of CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator:

  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC sliding head machines
  • Twin‑turret, twin‑spindle experience – essential
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and a team focused approach
  • Team player, with pride in one’s work and a desire for success
  • Be adaptable and willing to go the extra mile to meet tight deadlines

Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 07:00 – 16:00 Friday 07:00 – 12:00
Pay: Up to £16.50 per hour, dependent upon experience
