We're working with a well-established precision engineering business based in Hastings who are looking to strengthen their production team with an experienced CNC Supervisor.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong CNC machining background who enjoys being hands-on, supporting a team and making sure production runs smoothly, efficiently and to the highest possible standards.

What will you be doing?
As CNC Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the CNC department, providing technical support and guidance to CNC Operators, Setters and Machinists.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing hands-on technical guidance with machine setting, tooling, workholding, inspection and machining processes.
- Supporting the team with machining, tooling, programming and equipment issues to minimise downtime and keep production moving.
- Ensuring components are produced accurately and meet engineering drawings, customer specifications and quality standards.
- Investigating quality issues and non-conformances, identifying root causes and putting effective corrective actions in place.
- Coordinating daily workloads and priorities to ensure production schedules and delivery requirements are met.
- Monitoring machine performance, cycle times and efficiency, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Driving continuous improvement across the CNC department, including setup reduction, tooling optimisation and process improvements.
- Acting as a hands-on technical expert when required, including setting, operating and troubleshooting CNC machinery.
- Maintaining excellent 6S standards, ensuring the CNC area, tooling, workstations and inspection areas are clean, organised and audit-ready.
- Managing tooling, consumables and production supplies to ensure the team has everything needed to keep production running.
- Leading, coaching and developing CNC Operators, Setters and Machinists, including onboarding and training.
- Supporting team performance, attendance and employee records in line with company procedures.
- Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning and Production to resolve issues and improve manufacturing performance.
- Supporting the introduction of new products, equipment, tooling and machining processes.
We're looking for someone who can combine strong CNC technical knowledge with confident people leadership.
You'll ideally have:
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology or equivalent experience.
- A strong CNC machining background with experience of setting, operating and troubleshooting CNC machine tools.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, Edgecam or similar.
- Experience with CNC programming and program editing. Knowledge of Fanuc, Haas or similar controls would be beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, workholding, cutting parameters and machining optimisation.
- Previous experience leading, coaching or developing a manufacturing team.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- A good understanding of quality control and inspection requirements.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and 6S would be advantageous.
- Ideally, experience within a precision engineering, aerospace, scientific vacuum, semiconductor or other high-specification manufacturing environment.

Monday - Thursday: 8.00am - 5.00pm
Friday: 8.00am - 2.30pm
40 hours per week
