Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Nelson, Lancashire, is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Setter/Operator (Turning) to support their busy production team.
We're seeking a reliable and motivated individual with strong production machining experience who can confidently set and operate CNC turning machinery. Time-served apprentices are encouraged to apply, although candidates with proven industry experience will also be considered.
The Role
Working within a busy production environment, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality precision turned components while maintaining efficiency, accuracy and excellent quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting and operating CNC turning machines for production work.
- Making program adjustments and offset changes where required.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Producing components to specification and quality standards.
- Carrying out routine machine checks.
- Working safely and contributing to production targets.
The Ideal Candidate
You'll have:
- Experience setting and operating CNC turning machines within a production environment.
- The ability to adjust programs and offsets.
- CNC programming experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- The ability to read engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- A time-served apprenticeship is preferred, although candidates with proven CNC turning production experience will also be considered.
Working Hours
39 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
Part-time applications will also be considered for the right candidate.
The company also operates an early shift, with late shifts introduced when production demands require. Successful candidates will initially work the day shift, with opportunities to move onto the early shift once they have demonstrated their capability.
