Salary: £17.50 - £18.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 39 hours per week
Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
Friday: 7:00am - 12:30pm

Auxo Talent is recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company in Nottingham for two experienced CNC Turners. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing manufacturer renowned for producing high-quality precision components across a range of industries.

The Role

As a CNC Turner, you'll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines to manufacture precision-engineered components to tight tolerances. Working within a modern machining environment, you'll play a key role in delivering quality products efficiently while supporting continuous improvement across the business.



Key Responsibilities

  • Programme, set, and operate CNC turning machines.
  • Manufacture precision components in line with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Select appropriate tooling, machine settings, and cutting parameters for each job.
  • Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Maintain exceptional quality standards and work to tight tolerances.
  • Meet production schedules while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organised work area.
  • Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and productivity.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support production objectives.


About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Previous experience as a CNC Turner within a precision engineering environment.
  • Experience programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines.
  • The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • A strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a skilled manufacturing team.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to producing high-quality components.


Desirable Experience

  • Experience using Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Siemens control systems.
  • Experience machining a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement techniques.
  • Experience working within an ISO-accredited manufacturing environment.
