JRS Associates Ltd has partnered with a leading precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CNC Turner – Programmer, Setter, Operator. Working within a skilled machining team, you'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning centres, producing precision aerospace components to demanding quality standards.

The Successful CNC Turner – Programmer, Setter, Operator – Package

  • £17.00 – £18.00 per hour
  • Permanent position
  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm & Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
  • Early finish every Friday

The Successful CNC Turner – Programmer, Setter, Operator – Role

  • Program, set and operate CNC Turning Centres using Fanuc controls
  • Produce precision-machined aerospace components to engineering drawings
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T and tight tolerances
  • Select appropriate tooling, inserts and cutting parameters
  • Machine components to exact customer specifications
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using manual measuring equipment
  • Monitor tooling, offsets and cycle times to maximise productivity
  • Identify and resolve machining issues and non-conformances
  • Work in accordance with AS9100 quality procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment

The Successful CNC Turner – Programmer, Setter, Operator – Requirements

  • Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC Turning Centres
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls
  • Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances
  • Competent using Micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Bore Gauges and Thread Gauges
  • Good understanding of tooling, cutting data and machining processes
  • Aerospace or precision engineering experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
