JRS Associates Ltd has partnered with a leading precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CNC Turner – Programmer, Setter, Operator. Working within a skilled machining team, you'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning centres, producing precision aerospace components to demanding quality standards.
The Successful CNC Turner – Programmer, Setter, Operator – Package
- £17.00 – £18.00 per hour
- Permanent position
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm & Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
- Early finish every Friday

The Successful CNC Turner – Programmer, Setter, Operator – Role
- Program, set and operate CNC Turning Centres using Fanuc controls
- Produce precision-machined aerospace components to engineering drawings
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T and tight tolerances
- Select appropriate tooling, inserts and cutting parameters
- Machine components to exact customer specifications
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using manual measuring equipment
- Monitor tooling, offsets and cycle times to maximise productivity
- Identify and resolve machining issues and non-conformances
- Work in accordance with AS9100 quality procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
The Successful CNC Turner – Programmer, Setter, Operator – Requirements
- Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC Turning Centres
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls
- Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances
- Competent using Micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Bore Gauges and Thread Gauges
- Good understanding of tooling, cutting data and machining processes
- Aerospace or precision engineering experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
