CNC Turner Programmer / Setter

An established precision engineering and aerospace manufacturer is looking for an experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Op to join its modern CNC machining facility in Southall.
This is a hands-on programming role for a skilled CNC Turner who can program, set, prove and manufacture complex precision components, rather than simply operate established jobs.
The Machinery
You will work with a modern range of CNC turning and multi-tasking equipment including:
- Doosan Puma 2600SY – Y-axis, sub-spindle and driven tooling
- Doosan Puma 3100Y – Y-axis and driven tooling
- Doosan 2100
- Mazak Integrex i-200 – multi-axis turn/mill
The Role
You will be responsible for taking complex components from drawing/programming through to setting, prove-out and successful manufacture, including:
- Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes / turning centres
- Fanuc programming and program development
- Y-axis, C-axis, driven-tool and sub-spindle machining
- Offline CAD/CAM programming using Fusion and/or hyperMILL
- Planning tooling, workholding, cutting strategies, speeds and feeds
- Setting and proving new jobs from scratch
- Supporting New Part Introduction (NPI)
- Improving cycle times, tooling and machining processes
- Producing complex, close-tolerance aerospace components
What We're Looking For
You should be an experienced CNC Turner with strong programming and setting skills and ideally have:
- Strong Fanuc programming experience
- Experience programming jobs from scratch
- Multi-axis CNC turning experience
- Y-axis / driven tooling experience
- Sub-spindle experience – advantageous
- Doosan/Puma experience – highly desirable
- Fusion and/or hyperMILL CAD/CAM experience – advantageous
- Mazak Integrex or similar turn/mill experience – advantageous
- Aerospace, F1, motorsport, defence or other high-precision engineering experience
We're particularly interested in programmers/setters who understand the complete machining process, including tooling, workholding, prove-out and process optimisation.
Hours & Package
- 40-hour working week
- Typically 7:00am–5:30pm, 4 days per week
- Up to £25ph / £52,000 basic
- Overtime above 40 hours paid at 1.333x
- Optional Friday/Saturday overtime
- 24 days' holiday + Bank Holidays
