Early shift: Mon to Thursday: 06.00 am - 14.00 pm/Friday: 06.00 am – 13.00 pm       

Late shift: Mon to Thursday: 14.00 pm – 22.15 pm/Friday: 13.00 pm – 19.00 pm  

Due to shift patterns you will need to have a valid driving licence and your own transport

Salary is dependent on experience

We are currently recruiting for a CNC Turner/Programmer Setter Operator to join our client based in Swindon.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The following outlines the principal duties of the role. This list is not exhaustive, and a flexible approach is required as you may occasionally be asked to assist in other areas of the business.

  • Fully support the CNC Turning area in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the company’s CNC Turning machine centres.
  • Program, Set and Operate the company’s multi-axis CNC Turning Machines
  • Create new CNC programs and modify existing programs to meet engineering drawing requirements
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions accurately.
  • Carry out first-off inspections and ongoing in-process quality checks to ensure components meet specification.
  • Select, maintain and manage cutting tools, fixtures and equipment to ensure maximum machine efficiency.
  • Ensure all tooling, equipment and work holding are maintained and readily available
  • Complete all required production documentation and ensure correct identification and movement of products throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping within the turning area and ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Provide support and cover when and where necessary within other manufacturing areas when required.  

Specification:

  • Apprenticeship-trained or qualified in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC Turning machines.
  • Experience with Mazatrol/Mazak machine centres would be advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using a range of measuring equipment and maintaining high quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible, reliable and quality-focused.
