CNC Turner – Setter – Fanuc
£34,000–£36,000 + Overtime | 4-Day Week | Poole
Fancy a 4-day week and the chance to put a bit more in your pocket?

We're looking for an experienced CNC Turner/CNC Turning Setter/CNC Mill-Turner to join an established Poole-based manufacturer supplying precision components into the aerospace and defence sectors.

You'll be setting and operating Fanuc-controlled, multi-axis CNC lathes with live/driven tooling, producing precision components to demanding engineering standards.

Why consider it?
  • £34,000–£36,000 salary
  • 4-day working week
  • Choice of day or night shifts
  • Overtime available at enhanced rates
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Training and progression opportunities
  • Well-equipped engineering environment
  • Work on precision components for aerospace and defence

What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC lathes, making sure machines are correctly prepared and components are produced to the required specification.
The role will involve:
  • Setting and operating CNC lathes
  • Working with Fanuc controls
  • Using multi-axis lathes with live/driven tooling
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings
  • Producing components to the required tolerances
  • Checking your own work and carrying out quality inspections
  • Making adjustments to tooling and offsets where needed

What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who has worked as a CNC Turner, CNC Turning Setter or CNC Mill-Turner and is comfortable setting and operating CNC lathes.
You'll ideally have:
  • Experience setting and operating CNC lathes
  • Fanuc controls experience
  • Experience with multi-axis turning and live/driven tooling
  • The ability to read engineering drawings
  • Experience working to specific tolerances
  • A good eye for detail and pride in producing quality components

Experience within aerospace, defence or another precision engineering environment would be useful, but the main thing is being comfortable with CNC turning and setting.

The company
You'll be joining an established engineering business with a growing order book and a skilled manufacturing team.
The company produces precision components for demanding industries, giving you the chance to work on technically interesting parts rather than simply repeating the same production job every day.

Interested?
If you're already working as a CNC Turner and weren't necessarily looking for a move, the 4-day week, earning potential and type of work could make this one worth a conversation.
