What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines, producing precision components to engineering drawings and specified tolerances.
The role will involve:
- Programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes
- Programming using G-codes and M-codes
- Working with 2-axis CNC turning
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Selecting and setting tooling and work-holding
- Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections
- Troubleshooting machining issues and adjusting where required
- Machining materials including steel, aluminium and stainless steel
- Maintaining a clean and organised working area
What we're looking for
You'll need:
- Previous experience as a CNC Turner
- Fanuc programming experience
- Experience with 2-axis turning
- Good understanding of G-codes and M-codes
- Experience setting CNC lathes
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Understanding of tooling and machining principles
- A good eye for detail and quality
