Bristol (BS5 and BS30)

Full-time | Permanent

Salary: £12.92 - £18.31 an hour - depending on experience

BS5: days (Mon-Thurs 7.30-16.00 + Fri 7.30-12.30) or lates (Mon-Thurs 14.00-0.00 with 30% shift premium)

BS30: Double Days rotating weekly 6.00-14.00 Mon-Thurs + 6.00-11.00 Fri, and 14.00-22.00 Mon-Thurs and 11.00-16.00 Fri + 25% Shift Premium

You will primarily be based at one site depending on your skills and experience, please note you may occasionally be asked to assist the other Bristol site (with reasonable notice).

About the Role

We are recruiting for CNC Turners and Millers to join a busy aerospace manufacturing group, producing precision aerospace components. This is a hands-on role supporting the manufacture of precision components. You will be operating machinery, and ensuring production runs safely, smoothly, and to a high quality standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Setting and Operating CNC turning and milling machines
  • Producing precision components to drawing and customer specifications
  • Set tooling, manufacture soft jaws, and establish machine datums
  • Inspect components using precision measuring equipment
  • Optimise cycle times while maintaining quality and safety
  • Troubleshoot tooling, programme, and machine issues
  • Complete production documentation and support continuous improvement
  • You will work closely with engineers and other colleagues to optimise production processes and achieve efficient and accurate machining operations
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform in-process inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards
  • Please note there is a requirement to be flexible as you may need to work at our client’s other Group site in Bristol if required

Essential:

  • Experience using CNC machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Good working knowledge of component dimensions using inspection equipment (e.g. Micrometers, Verniers and Plug Gauges)
  • Ability to produce components to drawing tolerance & specifications, efficiently, accurately and safely
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings

Desirable:

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • OEE / FourJaw systems, Multi-spindle / multi-turret machines
  • Use of inspection machines - CMM / Opticline machines
