Location: East London
A great opportunity for an experienced Coachbuilder / Coachmaker / Commercial Vehicle Bodybuilder to join a busy commercial vehicle engineering operation, working on a fleet of buses and coaches.
This is a Monday-to-Friday daytime role, offering an excellent £24.85 per hour for a suitably qualified candidate.
What you’ll be doing as Coachbuilder / Coachmaker / Commercial Vehicle Bodybuilder
Working as part of the engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing the bodywork and structures of buses and coaches.
Your duties will include:
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance to bus and coach bodywork.
- Repairing damaged panels, flooring, framing and interior/exterior components.
- Carrying out fabrication and welding work where required.
- Removing and replacing damaged body panels and components.
- Inspecting vehicles and identifying bodywork defects.
- Ensuring repairs are completed to a high standard and within required timescales.
- Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised workshop.
- Supporting the wider engineering team when required.
What you’ll need as Coachbuilder / Coachmaker / Commercial Vehicle Bodybuilder
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience as a Coachbuilder, Coachmaker, Bus Bodybuilder, Vehicle Bodybuilder or Commercial Vehicle Body Repairer.
- Experience working on buses, coaches, HGVs or other commercial vehicles.
- Good practical skills in body repair, fabrication and general vehicle construction.
- Welding/fabrication experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
