Coded Welder – Excellent Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Coded Welder to join our client’s team on an exciting opportunity within the engineering and fabrication sector.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable welder who takes pride in producing high-quality work and has experience working to approved welding procedures, engineering drawings, and industry standards.

The Role

As a Coded Welder, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality welding and fabrication work across a range of projects. You will work closely with supervisors, fabricators, fitters, and other members of the team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out welding in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
  • Welding using MMA, MIG, MAG, TIG, and/or Flux-Cored Arc Welding processes, depending on project requirements.
  • Producing welds that meet relevant industry codes, standards, and customer specifications.
  • Carrying out visual inspections and supporting NDT activities where required.
  • Preparing materials through cutting, grinding, fitting, and cleaning.
  • Maintaining welding equipment and tools in a safe and effective condition.
  • Identifying and reporting defects, non-conformances, and equipment issues.
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and housekeeping.
  • Working effectively as part of a team to meet project deadlines.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Current and valid coded welder qualifications/certifications.
  • Proven experience in an industrial, structural, pipe, fabrication, or heavy engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and welding procedures.
  • Good knowledge of relevant welding codes and standards.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Desirable:

Experience within construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering.

Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials.

Additional qualifications such as Confined Space, Working at Height, or Forklift Operation.
