About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and student-centred College Services Coordinator to join our fantastic College Services Team!

This is a rewarding and varied role at the heart of the student experience, supporting students from enrolment through to progression to the University of Portsmouth. Working closely with colleagues across College Services, Learning and Teaching, Admissions and the University, you will ensure every student receives the guidance, encouragement and personalised support they need to succeed.

A key focus of the role is leading the College's support for students with disabilities and additional learning needs. You will coordinate tailored support plans, implement reasonable adjustments, monitor student progress and work proactively with academic colleagues and specialist support services to remove barriers to learning. Your work will help ensure every student has the opportunity to achieve their academic goals and successfully progress to the next stage of their studies.

Alongside this, you will coordinate a range of academic support and student success initiatives, identify students who may be at risk, oversee key student support processes, contribute to quality enhancement activities and use data to improve student outcomes across the College.

If you are passionate about supporting students, thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy making a genuine difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the College's SEN(D) support provision, ensuring students with disabilities and additional learning needs receive personalised, timely and effective support throughout their studies.
  • Coordinate Individual Education Plans (IEPs), reasonable adjustments and targeted interventions, working collaboratively with academic colleagues and the University of Portsmouth to maximise student success and progression.

  • Support and oversee key academic administration processes, including predicted grades, missed assessments, Extenuating Circumstances Forms (ECFs), reassessment and academic integrity procedures.
  • Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with College, GDPR and UKVI requirements.
  • Support student registration, re-registration and semester transition activities.
  • Collect, analyse and report student data to inform decision-making, improve retention and enhance the overall student experience.
  • Support academic quality assurance processes and continuous enhancement initiatives across the College.
  • Develop strong partnerships with colleagues across the University of Portsmouth and external stakeholders to ensure students receive seamless support.
  • Contribute to safeguarding, health and safety, sponsored student reporting and the wider operational success of the College.

About You

You'll be someone who is passionate about student success and committed to delivering an exceptional student experience.

You will bring:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working in higher education, student services or another educational environment.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work confidently with students and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality support.
  • Excellent digital literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office and student record systems.
  • The ability to analyse data and use insights to improve student engagement and outcomes.
