As their Colour, Trim & Graphics (CTG) / Colour, Material & Finish (CMF) Designer, you will craft every surface and detail, forging a deeper connection between the rider and their motorcycle, and transforming their vision into a tangible, emotional experience. You will be responsible for developing product identity and enhancing brand awareness. You will accomplish this by using effective tools such as material, colour, and surface treatment to produce excellent product quality. You will work on product graphics, logos, and colour schemes, and will be considered an "expert" in this subject, sharing knowledge and making solid judgments in order to positively impact and contribute to initiatives.
 
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Design & Strategy

  • Lead end-to-end Colour, Trim, & Graphics (CTG) design for all projects, from initial concept to final production.
  • Collaborate with Product Strategy, Industrial Design, and Brand teams to align on project vision.
  • Translate the CMF (Colour, Material, & Finish) strategy into creative solutions for both vehicles and genuine motorcycle accessories.
  • Use design storytelling to present material design and its emotional impact to stakeholders for approval.

Research & Trend Analysis

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to motorcycle display consoles and CMF.
  • Conduct advanced CMF trend research, forecast future trends, and publish reports to inspire designers and guide material exploration.
  • Translate trends into physical materials to build and maintain a comprehensive material library.

Execution & Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and suppliers, to ensure designs are technically feasible and align with product goals.
  • Document CTG specification sheets for production handover and coordinate with the team to ensure design intent is achieved.
  • Create 1:1 CTG build vehicles for stakeholder approval.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

  • Should ideally be educated with a Bachelor's degree or above in Automotive/ Transportation/ Industrial/ Graphic Design (or similar), although plenty of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Should be highly experienced with Graphics and applications and have worked in a professional design studio environment on production projects.
  • You will be experienced in the use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop software.
  • Exceptional visual, communication and presentation skills are needed.
  • You will have exceptional design intuition, strong problem-solving skills and an ability to visually communicate through sketches, and renderings.
  • Ability to think three-dimensionally with a strong emphasis on proportions and a refined sense of form is required.
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge of mass production, manufacturing processes and material is needed.

It’s great if you also have the following

  • Knowledge of additional applications of visual communication such as Rhino, Alias, Showcase, VRED.
  • Knowledge of and passion for Motorcycles and/or the Automotive sector in general.
