Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join our Insurance Brokers. This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to develop your career toward an Account Executive role within a growing brokerage.

You will provide essential support to our Commercial Manager, working with a small team of three junior account staff. Your role will span new business placement, client servicing, renewals, and the day-to-day management of commercial insurance risks.

Key Responsibilities

New Business & Placement
●    Support the placement of new commercial risks with underwriters and broking partners
●    Prepare quotation requests and supporting documentation
●    Liaise with clients and underwriters to secure terms and arrange placement
●    Maintain accurate records and documentation

Renewals & Servicing
●    Manage the renewal of commercial policies across a broad range of risks
●    Process mid-term adjustments and policy variations
●    Handle client queries and claims support
●    Ensure timely renewals and compliance with policy documentation

Team & Supervision
●    Provide oversight and support to three junior account staff members
●    Act as support to the Commercial Manager on key accounts and initiatives
●    Assist with training, quality control, and process improvement

Professional Development
●    Contribute to the growth and efficiency of the commercial team
●    Develop expertise in a broad range of commercial insurance risks
●    Progress toward an Account Executive role as experience and opportunity allow

Person Specification

Essential Requirements
●    Minimum 5 years of broad commercial insurance experience
●    Proven experience in renewals, mid-term adjustments, new business, and risk placement
●    Sound knowledge of commercial insurance products and markets
●    Property insurance experience, or broad commercial combined risks background
●    Strong administrative and organisational skills
●    Professional client-facing manner and communication skills
●    Ability to work as part of a team and support junior staff
●    Own transport or practical commuting arrangement to Billericay

Desirable Requirements
●    Experience in an independent brokerage environment
●    Experience with commercial combined risks
●    Aspiration to progress toward an Account Executive or Account Manager role
●    Familiarity with broking software and systems
