We are expanding a global platform of companies focused on technologies that measure, monitor, and protect the environment and critical industrial infrastructure.

To support this growth, we are appointing a Commercial and Technical Director for hazardous area business locations, a senior commercial and technical leader with full ownership of our hazardous‑area (Ex) and ATEX portfolio. This includes forklift conversions, diesel engine safety systems, lighting, switches, transmitters, and wider explosion protection solutions. You will ideally be within commuting distance of the Brighton area, with regular international travel.

The Commercial and Technical Director Role

This is a pivotal senior leadership position with full accountability for our hazardous locations business. The Commercial and Technical Director will own the strategy, commercial performance, product roadmap, and major deal execution, providing visible market leadership and strengthening our position as a global leader in explosion protection and hazardous area technologies.

As the company’s internal and external authority on hazardous area compliance, you will shape specification, embed Ex‑certification credibility across the organisation, act as the centre of excellence for compliance, and unlock cross‑sell opportunities with regulated customers.

Key Responsibilities of Commercial and Technical Director

Revenue & growth leadership - full accountability for revenue, margin, strategy, and cross‑sell expansion across all brands.

Geographic expansion - drive growth in priority regions, including the Americas and Middle East, and strengthen distributor and channel networks.

Major deal ownership - personally lead the largest and most strategic hazardous location opportunities.

Product & certification strategy - set direction for product, compliance, and market positioning as the primary subject matter expert.

Specification leadership - position the business as the preferred partner for hazardous area equipment across key markets and global customers.

Lifecycle revenue growth - expand service, retrofit, recertification, spares, audits, repairs, and digital monitoring to maximise long‑term installed base value.

About You

You bring strong commercial leadership experience in technical or industrial markets, with a deep understanding of hazardous area / explosion‑protection environments or similarly regulated sectors. A strategic thinker with hands‑on delivery capability, credible with customers, partners, and executive stakeholders, experienced in owning and growing a business segment or portfolio.
