Commercial Executive (FMCG / Fresh Produce)

POSITION TITLE: Commercial Executive

REPORTS TO: Senior Commercial Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Support

· Support the management of customer and supplier relationships.

· Assist in the delivery of sales, margin and profitability targets.

· Prepare reports, analysis and performance data to support decision making.

· Maintain accurate commercial records, pricing and contractual information.

Trading & Performance Management

· Monitor daily trading performance and identify risks and opportunities.

· Support forecasting, budgeting and stock planning activities.

· Assist with pricing reviews and commercial analysis.

· Ensure timely communication of market and customer updates.

Customer & Supplier Engagement

· Build positive working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

· Support customer meetings, supplier reviews and commercial negotiations.

· Resolve routine queries and issues in a timely manner.

· Maintain high levels of customer service and responsiveness.

Operational Collaboration

· Work closely with Procurement, Sales, Operations, Technical and Logistics teams.

· Support the smooth execution of customer and supplier programmes.

· Ensure information is communicated accurately and efficiently across the business.

· Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and project work.

Personal Development

· Develop commercial, negotiation and relationship management skills.

· Build understanding of the produce market, supply chain and customer landscape.

· Take ownership of agreed objectives and development plans.

· Demonstrate a proactive and solutions-focused approach.

EXPERIENCE

· Experience in a commercial, buying, sales or account management role desirable.

· Strong analytical and numerical skills.

· Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

· Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

· Ambitious, proactive and keen to develop a commercial career.
