Commercial Finance Analyst
Paul Card Recruitment
Are you looking for an opportunity where you can genuinely influence the future of a growing finance function?
This is a newly created position within an ambitious, expanding business that is investing heavily in its finance team. Reporting directly to the FP&A Director, you'll play an integral role in developing reporting, improving processes and helping build a finance function that's fit for the future.
You'll be joining a collaborative, close-knit team where ideas are welcomed, continuous improvement is encouraged, and career progression is a genuine priority. With a strong track record of developing and promoting talent internally, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career rather than simply their next role.
The Role
This is a varied commercial finance role where you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact. Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Producing meaningful management information and commercial analysis.
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.
- Challenging existing ways of working and implementing more efficient solutions.
- Partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
- Contributing to the continued development of the FP&A function as the business grows.
The business is currently implementing Power BI, so experience with Power BI or SQL would be advantageous, although this isn't essential. More importantly, they're looking for someone with the desire to learn and embrace new technology.
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys looking beyond the numbers and wants to add real value to a business.
Ideally you'll have:
- AAT Level 4 qualification as a minimum (or equivalent experience).
- Experience within management accounting, FP&A or commercial finance.
- Strong Excel skills and an analytical approach.
- The confidence to challenge processes and suggest improvements.
- A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Power BI or SQL would be beneficial but is by no means essential.
What's on Offer?
- A newly created role with genuine scope to shape the future of the finance function.
- A collaborative and supportive team environment where your ideas will be heard.
- Exposure to business-wide commercial finance and strategic decision-making.
- The opportunity to work on systems and reporting improvements, including a Power BI implementation.
- Genuine long-term career progression within a growing business that develops and promotes its people.
If you're looking for a role where you can develop your commercial finance career, make a real impact and grow alongside an ambitious business, we'd love to hear from you.
