The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering team covering London and Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified commercial gas engineer looking for a long-term position with a reputable employer, working across a varied portfolio of commercial properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, fault finding and installation works on commercial gas and heating systems.

The role will involve working directly with customers and site teams, so a professional approach and strong communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial gas and heating systems.

• Service, inspect and repair commercial boilers, burners and associated plant.

• Diagnose faults and identify appropriate solutions efficiently and safely.

• Carry out commercial gas installations and replacement works where required.

• Work on a range of commercial heating and plant-room equipment.

• Complete gas safety checks, testing and commissioning in accordance with current legislation and manufacturer requirements.

• Maintain accurate service reports, job sheets and documentation.

• Identify additional works and report any remedial requirements.

• Liaise professionally with customers, facilities teams, contractors and other site personnel.

• Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in accordance with company procedures.

• Maintain a strong focus on health and safety at all times.

• Travel throughout London and Kent to attend customer sites.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer with a strong background in commercial heating and gas maintenance.

You should be confident working independently, managing your own workload and dealing directly with customers. A practical and methodical approach to fault finding is important, along with the ability to work safely and professionally across a variety of commercial environments.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant commercial gas qualifications and current Gas Safe registration.

• Commercial Gas qualifications appropriate to the work undertaken.

• Proven experience working on commercial gas and heating systems.

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• Good understanding of current gas safety legislation and safe working practices.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.

• Willingness to travel across London and Kent.

Desirable Experience

• Commercial boiler servicing and maintenance.

• Burners and associated combustion equipment.

• Plant-room experience.

• Heating controls and associated systems.

• Experience within facilities management or building services.

• Experience working across multiple commercial sites.
