As part of their continued success, they are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to join their senior leadership team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager or a Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step into a leadership role, offering genuine autonomy, the opportunity to influence business decisions, and long-term career security within a successful contractor.
The RoleReporting directly to the Directors, you will take overall responsibility for the commercial performance of the business, ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining the high standards and client relationships the company has become known for.
Working closely with operational teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, you'll provide strategic commercial leadership while remaining involved in the day-to-day management of projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the commercial management of multiple construction projects from tender through to final account.
- Oversee cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, valuations, and financial reporting.
- Manage procurement and negotiate contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to maximise profitability.
- Ensure contractual compliance and adherence to industry legislation.
- Support project teams with commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Work alongside the Directors to support business growth and commercial strategy.
We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor position within the construction industry.
- Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to make sound business decisions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a genuine desire to contribute to the long-term success of the business.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline is desirable.
