Commercial Manager

We're recruiting a Commercial Manager to join a well-established business with an excellent reputation across social housing retrofit, planned maintenance and refurbishment. Based in Cardiff, you'll lead a team of Quantity Surveyors while overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from £500k to £20m.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, this is a genuine leadership opportunity where you'll drive commercial performance, shape strategy and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.

The role requires a commercially astute leader with the experience and confidence to manage the commercial and contractual complexities of large-scale social housing projects.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or aspiring Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge, with a thorough understanding of both NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• The ability to interpret complex contractual obligations, identify commercial risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• A proactive approach to recognising commercial opportunities, protecting margin and maximising project profitability.
• Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to challenge, influence and make informed commercial decisions.
• Experience leading and developing commercial teams while building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• A strategic mindset, capable of balancing operational delivery with commercial performance and long-term business objectives.
