Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions, is looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented professional who is keen to step up into a Commercial Manager role within a high-profile defence sector facilities management contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong commercial experience - perhaps currently a Senior Commercial Analyst, Quantity Surveyor, or Assistant Commercial Manager - who is ready to take ownership, lead key processes, and develop into a fully rounded Commercial Manager.
Job Description
As Commercial Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and driving client change activity, ensuring contractual compliance, commercial integrity, and timely delivery across a complex and dynamic environment.
You’ll be the go-to commercial lead for change requests, working closely with operational and client teams, while gaining exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Change & Commercial Management
- Act as the primary commercial contact for all client change requests.
- Lead the full lifecycle of change: evaluation, pricing, negotiation, approval, and implementation.
- Ensure all changes are accurately captured, tracked, and compliant with contractual processes.
Early Warnings & Instructions
- Manage and assess Early Warnings and Buyer’s Instructions in line with contract requirements.
- Work collaboratively with operational, finance, and technical teams to evaluate impacts and risks.
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution to mitigate commercial and operational issues.
Governance & Compliance
- Maintain robust commercial controls and ensure adherence to contract terms.
- Support change registers, audit trails, and reporting processes.
Financial & Risk Management
- Prepare cost models and commercial assessments.
- Identify risks and opportunities, supporting proactive decision-making.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting (including P&L insights).
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Build strong, collaborative relationships internally and with the client.
- Support negotiations and approvals while ensuring client expectations are met.
- Identify opportunities for value creation, growth, and cost efficiencies.
Leadership & Development
- Support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Take ownership of your own development, with clear progression opportunities within the role.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
Experience
- Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Experience in a commercial or contract environment.
- Experience working with contracts, change control, or cost management.
- Strong understanding of commercial risk and financial principles.

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the contract, Security Clearance (SC) or the ability to obtain it is a requirement for this role.
