Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a qualified Commercial Manager (Quantity Surveyor) to take responsibility for the commercial management and administration of a major NEC4 facilities management contract.

This is a key commercial role, providing oversight of contract governance, compliance, and performance across a large-scale facilities management portfolio. The successful candidate will ensure robust commercial controls while supporting financial performance and effective contract delivery.

The Role

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you'll lead contract administration activities, manage contractual change processes, support financial performance monitoring, and utilise contract management software to maintain effective commercial controls and reporting.

This role requires strong commercial acumen, in-depth NEC4 knowledge, and the ability to drive service improvements through data analysis, commercial insight, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management and administration of a major NEC4 facilities management contract.
  • Develop, maintain, and control commercial processes in line with contractual requirements and governance frameworks.
  • Manage contract documentation, communications, and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit contractual notices, change requests, variations, and claims as required.
  • Utilise contract management software to manage contract data, track obligations, and generate commercial reports and analysis.
  • Support financial monitoring activities, including budgets, forecasts, cost estimates, and assessing the commercial impact of contract variations.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and client stakeholders.
  • Monitor contractual compliance, identify commercial risks and opportunities, and recommend appropriate mitigation and improvement actions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor (or equivalent) in commercial contract management, preferably within Facilities Management or Construction.
  • Familiarity with the NEC contract framework and its management.
  • Proficient in the use of contract management software (e.g. FastDraft).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and analytical skills, with a proven ability to collate, assess and present commercial data and management information (MI), including the reporting of commercial notices.
  • Able to effectively engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders, reviewing and discussing commercial matters, including service performance and data trend information.
  • Able to analyse data and drive service improvements that enhance account performance and partnership outcomes.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel.
  • Able to obtain or pass BPSS and CTC clearance.
  • Professional membership of RICS or an equivalent professional body (desirable).
