Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for a Commercial Project Manager to join a World leader offering Products, Solutions and Services across the entire Energy value chain on behalf of a well established manufacturing organisation to play a key role in supporting Manufacturing Operations.
The Commercial Project Manager oversees the financial, contractual, and risk management aspects of energy and infrastructure projects. Working in a hybrid capacity, the role focuses on budgeting, cost control, accurate financial forecasting, and contract administration to safeguard project profitability and ensure regulatory compliance. Partnering closely with technical, legal, and supply chain teams, the position evaluates commercial risks, manages change orders, and delivers clear financial reporting to align operational execution with organizational strategic goals.
Some of the duties will include but are not limited to:

Set up, track, and manage all project financial plans, ensuring costs remain within approved limits.

Monitor ongoing project spend, perform variance analysis, and accurately forecast project cash flows, revenue, and profit margins.

Prepare and present regular financial performance reports, balance sheets, and key commercial metrics to project stakeholders and management.

Oversee project contracts from award to final closeout, ensuring strict compliance with all agreed terms, conditions, and obligations.

Review change orders, evaluate commercial claims, and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors to protect project margins.

Manage project billing schedules, track payment milestones, and coordinate cash collection to optimize project working capital.

Identify, quantify, and evaluate potential financial, legal, and operational project risks early in the lifecycle.

Develop risk-mitigation strategies, establish contingency plans, and ensure commercial risk management processes are consistently applied.

Maintain full compliance with internal governance, commercial guidelines, accounting standards, and external statutory requirements.

Partner with Technical Project Managers, Engineering, Legal, and Supply Chain teams to ensure technical execution aligns with commercial objectives.

Serve as a primary commercial interface for external clients, partners, and internal leadership during commercial project reviews.
Essential Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related commercial discipline.

Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and margin analysis.

Understanding of contract management principles, commercial terms and conditions, compliance, and contract negotiation.

Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex project financial data, spot budget variances, and identify commercial risks.

Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP or enterprise ERP systems) and project management tools.

High level of accuracy in financial forecasting, contract administration, and compliance tracking.

Excellent communication skills to effectively translate and present complex financial data to cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage project risks and resolve commercial issues effectively.

Ability to partner closely with technical project managers, engineers, legal counsel, and supply chain teams to drive project goals.
Desirable Requirements:

Prior commercial or financial management experience specifically within energy, power generation, renewables, heavy engineering, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Familiarity with managing international or multi-site projects with multi-currency budgets and cross-border commercial considerations.

Holding or working toward recognized accounting or project management credentials (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or PMI/PMP certification).

Hands-on experience with advanced modules in major financial ERP platforms (such as SAP FI/CO, PS).

Practical experience in managing complex contract variations, dispute resolution mechanisms, and formal client claims.
