Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Commission and install low-voltage diesel generator systems and associated control equipment
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs across hire fleet and customer-owned equipment
- Diagnose electrical and control system faults
- Configure and test control systems including DSE and ComAp controllers
- Install ATS systems, synchronising equipment, and temporary power distribution systems
- Conduct load bank testing and system performance verification
- Provide on-site technical support and respond to breakdowns when required
- Complete commissioning and service documentation using digital systems
- Support installation teams and collaborate with project delivery teams
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with RAMS and health & safety requirements
Profile
The Successful Candidate:
- Electrically qualified via apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
- Minimum 3 years' experience in power generation, commissioning, or electrical service roles
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities
- Experience with generator control systems (DSE, ComAp or similar)
- Knowledge of ATS systems, synchronisation, and LV power distribution
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- PLC experience or diagnostics knowledge advantageous
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-facing approach
