About the Role
Are you a skilled Commissioning Engineer looking to join a high-performing engineering team based in the heart of London? We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented engineer to drive full-lifecycle commissioning, systems integration, and technical site leadership across water and wastewater process engineering projects.
Operating from our flagship office at 70 St Mary Axe, you will act as a key technical liaison between design teams, supply chains, and site operations ensuring end-to-end quality, compliance, and flawless handover on critical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Lifecycle Commissioning: Develop commissioning plans, lead FAT/SAT testing, calibrate analytical equipment, and manage defect close-out from design through to handover.
- Site Supervision & Quality Control: Oversee subcontractor installations, witness testing against ITPs, approve RAMS, and deliver snag-free, high-quality execution.
- Design & System Integration: Review and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, FDS, and P&IDs; troubleshoot issues; and initiate design modifications where required.
- Early Contractor Involvement (ECI): Perform site surveys and system reviews to shape early project scope and value engineering decisions.
- Stakeholder Management & Reporting: Monitor supply chain performance, provide core management team updates, write client reports, and deliver training to client O&M teams.
- Authorised Person Duties: Undertake either an Electrical or Mechanical Authorised Person (AP) role (subject to assessment and training).
What We Are Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Minimum 3 years in a commissioning role within Water & Wastewater Process Engineering, specifically with a main contractor.
- Education: HNC/HND, Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or an Engineering Apprenticeship & NVQ within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Professional Registration: Professional membership (e.g., IET, IMechE) is highly desirable.

- ECS (CSCS) Card
- EUSR Water Hygiene Card
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- First Aid at Work
- (Desirable) CompEx Qualifications
Key Competencies
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical contractor commissioning processes.
- Meticulous approach to documentation, safety (SHEQ), and technical compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills-approachable with clients and effective at leading site teams.
