The Communal Heating Specialist will support the Energy and Carbon Manager with the delivery of the Heat Network Regulations, lead the Energy Advice Service, and provide technical support to the Energy Team.

Description
- Manage communal heating systems, ensuring efficient energy use and cost management.
- Develop and deliver policies and processes relating to Heat Network Regulations, Customer Protections and Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders and contractors to deliver Heating Network Regulation compliance.
- Manage contractor activities in relation to HIU (Heat Interface Unit) and heat meter repairs and efficiency improvements.
- Support and advise customers remotely and in their own home in relation to heat network use, efficiency and affordability.
- Liaise with the Investment Team in relation to Heat Interface Unit and Heat Meter project delivery.
- Utilise monitoring systems such as BMS, HIU and energy billing data to improve system efficiency, fault identification and resolution responsiveness.
- Analyse customer energy data to inform decision making in supporting and advising customers.
- Handling disputes with suppliers on behalf of customers including raising complaints and dealing with the Ombudsman service.
- Provide technical support to the Energy Team in relation to supply queries and meter exchanges.
- Lead the Energy Advice Service to provide a range of bespoke energy related advice and support to all customers.
- Delivering specialised environmental training to colleagues, accredited to the Carbon Literacy standard.
- Survey, calculate and issue EPCs (Energy Performance Certificates) as required.
- Encourage behavioural changes with regard to renewable technologies.
- Promote, design and deliver initiatives to help the organisations customers save on energy bills
Profile
A successful Communal Heating Specialist should have:
- Evidence of CPD in relation to the Heating Network Regulations and be willing to undertake a formal qualification when available.
- Excellent knowledge of all aspects of Heat Network Regulations, ideally in a social housing setting.
- Practical knowledge and experience of Housing Interface Units, heat meters and billing technologies.
- Good knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable technology.
- Experience of analysing energy bills and data and using the information to make informed decisions.
- Experience dealing with energy suppliers.
- Qualification or equivalent professional experience in energy poverty.
- Good knowledge of existing Ofgen complaints procedure.
- Experience in developing customer engagement communications and the ability to design and deliver training and presentations to large groups.
- Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office.
Job Offer
- Daily rate of £400, dependent on the level of experience.
- Interim position.
