Communications Officer

As a Communications Officer, you’ll deliver integrated regional communications plans across North East and South London that align our local communications and meet our goals. You’ll also lead and support on corporate and portfolio-wide communications activity. Working with colleagues, you’ll develop a range of content on and offline, as well as providing communications counsel and support to colleagues across the business.
What you’ll do
- Develop and deliver communication plans for special projects such as regeneration consultations, new developments, communities and resident engagement events
- Proactively identify and draft newsworthy content to communicate messages to our target audiences
- Plan, write and work collaboratively with colleagues across the communications team to deliver a range of resident and customer communications, including letters, presentations, newsletters, web articles and social media
- Act as a roving reporter in our communities, developing news articles, photography and video to use across a range of channels
- Work with colleagues across communications and marketing to create content for national campaigns that the organisation is supporting; personalising content to fit with our brand and our values
- Contribute to relevant publications such as our resident magazine and annual reports.
- Develop messages for different audiences, such as stakeholders, residents, and the wider community
- Support the work of the Communications Business Partners and the delivery of communications monitoring and evaluation for the team.
- You’ll be expected to spend time out and about in our communities with our residents, building relationships and working with local teams.
What you’ll need
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues at all levels across the organisation and agree the appropriate communications approach
- Excellent writing skills, and ability to adapt style for different channels/audiences
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work on several initiatives at once, and flexibility to work to set deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to spot things others may have missed
- A strong focus on equality, diversity and inclusion ensuring that communications are accessible to all
