Complex Carer (Tracheostomy Care) in Crawley, West Sussex

We are urgently recruiting experienced Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support an 8-month-old baby girl with complex clinical care needs in the Crawley area.

This is an excellent opportunity for skilled and compassionate carers with experience in paediatric complex care who can provide safe, high-quality overnight support.

🕒 Shift Details

• Location: Crawley RH11
• Role: Healthcare Assistant (HCA)
• Hours: 7 × 10-hour night shifts per week
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay Rate: £17 per hour Monday to Friday and £17.50 on weekends

🩺 Clinical Care Requirements

The client has complex clinical needs, including:

• Tracheostomy in situ, requiring frequent suctioning.
• Oxygen therapy at 0.5L via a Swedish nose.
• High risk of aspiration.
• PEGJ feeding, currently pump-fed for 16 hours per day.
• Gastrostomy stoma care.

🎓 Essential Specialist Skills & Experience

Candidates must have relevant experience and competency in:

• Tracheostomy care and tracheostomy changes.
• Airway suctioning.
• Medication administration via PEGJ.
• Nebuliser administration (following assessment).
• Gastrostomy stoma care.

Additional Information

Parents currently undertake intermittent catheterisation three times daily. This may increase if the client develops a UTI. There is also the potential for care staff to undertake catheterisation in the future, subject to appropriate training and competency assessment.
