A welcoming and inclusive specialist school in Newbury is looking for a dedicated Complex Needs Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting children and young people with a range of additional and complex needs within a supportive educational environment.

As a Complex Needs Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning, develop independence and engage positively throughout the school day.

The role of a Complex Needs Assistant will involve adapting your approach to suit each pupil, building positive and trusting relationships, and helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

As a Complex Needs Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs
• Support pupils with learning, communication, emotional regulation and engagement
• Assist with personal care and daily routines where required
• Help implement individualised support and behaviour strategies
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other specialist professionals

This Complex Needs Assistant position would be ideal for someone with previous experience in SEN, care, support work, youth work or childcare.
