This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting adults experiencing homelessness, housing difficulties and multiple complex needs.
The RoleYou will provide person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed support to residents living in supported accommodation.
Your responsibilities as a Complex Needs Support Worker will include:
- Building positive and trusting relationships with residents.
- Completing needs and risk assessments.
- Creating and reviewing personalised support plans.
- Supporting residents with homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, financial difficulties and other complex needs.
- Helping residents develop independence, confidence and practical life skills.
- Supporting residents to access benefits, healthcare, housing and other services.
- Providing housing advice and helping residents move towards suitable long-term accommodation.
- Working with local authorities, health services and other agencies.
- Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Maintaining accurate records and monitoring residents' progress.
- Supporting residents to engage with their local community and achieve their goals.
- Previous experience supporting adults with complex needs.
- Experience in supported housing, homelessness, social care or a similar setting.
- Knowledge of mental health, substance misuse, homelessness and safeguarding.
- Experience completing assessments and developing support plans.
- A person-centred and non-judgemental approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Experience working with other agencies and professionals.
- Knowledge of housing and welfare benefits is desirable.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
