We're looking for an organised, proactive and detail-focused Compliance Officer to join our team at Barker Ross Group in Leicester.

This is a varied, part-time role where you'll play an important part in ensuring compliance standards are maintained across our recruitment business. Working closely with our branches and internal departments, you'll coordinate audits, maintain compliance records and help ensure we meet our legal, regulatory and client requirements.

Reporting directly to the HR Manager, you'll also provide occasional administrative support to the HR function when required.

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, building relationships and ensuring high standards are maintained.

What you'll be doing

  • Coordinating and conducting internal compliance audits across our branches.
  • Preparing for and supporting external client audits and industry accreditations.
  • Monitoring compliance standards and working with managers to identify and address areas requiring improvement.
  • Ensuring client-specific compliance requirements are understood and implemented across the business.
  • Maintaining accurate compliance records, documentation and audit reports.
  • Conducting and advising on right to work, DBS and DVLA checks.
  • Coordinating mandatory employee training and maintaining accurate training records.
  • Supporting the completion of compliance documentation for tenders, including GDPR, health and safety and recruitment compliance.
  • Preparing and updating compliance procedures, templates and supporting documentation.
  • Building effective working relationships with colleagues across our branches and providing guidance on compliance requirements.
  • Providing occasional administrative support to the HR Manager and assisting with wider business projects when required.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is confident, approachable and able to manage a varied workload.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous experience in compliance, auditing or a similar administrative role.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues at all levels.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • A proactive approach to identifying issues and following through on actions.
  • A professional approach to handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your knowledge of compliance requirements.

Experience within the recruitment industry, particularly temporary recruitment compliance, would be advantageous but isn't essential.
