Description

  • Deliver and support asbestos removal and legionella management programmes across the housing portfolio.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to health and safety legislation.
  • Review and approve asbestos survey reports and legionella risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage remedial works and monitor completion of follow-up actions to maintain compliance standards.
  • Oversee contractor performance, ensuring work is delivered safely, effectively, and to agreed standards.
  • Liaise with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to coordinate access and compliance-related activities.
  • Produce compliance and performance reports while acting as a key point of contact for asbestos and legionella matters.

Profile

  • A successful Compliance Officer should have:
  • A recognised asbestos qualification (BOHS P402/P405 or equivalent), or be actively working towards achieving it.
  • A legionella qualification such as City & Guilds, BOHS P901, or an equivalent industry-recognised certification.
  • Practical experience working with asbestos and legionella contractors, including monitoring compliance and quality of work.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety legislation, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills, together with a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service

Job Offer

  • Salary ranging from £31,537 to £33,699, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Fixed-term 12 month contract in a Stockport-based organisation.
