COMPOSITE TECHNICIAN — LAMINATING / TRIMMING / FITTING

THE OPPORTUNITY
We're recruiting across multiple levels for a growing composites manufacturing team in Eynsham, Oxfordshire. Whether you're an experienced pre-preg laminator, a composites trimmer or fitter, or someone with strong practical skills who's ready to make a move into composites, we want to hear from you.
The business is a well-established precision composites manufacturer working across some of the most demanding programmes in the industry. They've just landed a significant new project and are building a team to deliver it, with immediate hires needed now and further roles coming as the project scales.
This is a business that takes composites seriously. The team is experienced, the facility is well-equipped, and some of their best people started with no composites background at all. What they care about is quality, attitude and the willingness to get stuck in.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're hiring across three profiles, read on and see where you fit.
TIER 1 EXPERIENCED LAMINATORS (immediate requirement)
This is the priority hire. If you have genuine pre-preg laminating experience, we want to speak to you first.
- Proven hand laminating experience, pre-preg carbon fibre, unidirectional prepreg
- Vacuum bagging and debulk operations
- Autoclave experience, cure preparation and cycle familiarity
- Ability to work confidently from ply books and engineering drawings
- High standards of workmanship and right first time mentality

TIER 2 COMPOSITES TRIMMERS, FITTERS AND BONDERS
As the project grows, we'll need people who can trim, fit, bond and finish composite components to a high standard. If this is your background, don't hold back, these roles are coming and we'd rather know about you early.
- Experience trimming, finishing or bonding composite components
- Comfortable working to engineering drawings and tight tolerances
- Good hand skills and attention to detail
- Experience with hand tools and air tools in a composites environment
Laminating experience alongside trimming or fitting is a bonus but not a requirement at this level.
TIER 3 PRACTICAL BACKGROUNDS LOOKING TO MOVE INTO COMPOSITES
The business has a strong track record of taking people with the right practical foundations and developing them into skilled composites technicians. If you're hands-on, technically minded and genuinely motivated to learn, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
Backgrounds that transfer well include:
- Aircraft or vehicle body technician
- GRP or fibreglass worker
- Boat builder or marine fabricator
- Joiner, cabinet maker or furniture manufacturer
- Panel beater or automotive repair technician
- General manufacturing operative with strong hand tool skills
- Upholsterer, pattern cutter or materials handler with precision experience
You don't need composites experience at this level, you need good hands, a strong work ethic and the attitude to learn properly.
