Pay Rate: £130–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Overview
Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated Computer Science Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach KS5.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the KS3 & KS4 Computer Science curriculum
- Plan, prepare, and assess engaging Computer Science lessons in line with department policy
- Support students in developing their understanding of programming, computational thinking, and digital technologies
- Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions to raise attainment
- Contribute to department improvement planning and curriculum development
- Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions, and parents' evenings as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching experience in a UK secondary setting
- Holds relevant qualifications in Computer Science, ICT, or a related subject (desirable)
- Is passionate about technology, computing, and student achievement
- Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to wider school life
- Can inspire students to develop confidence and enthusiasm for Computer Science
