FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading design and build partner within the UK Water sector for a Construction Manager to join their delivery team on a major water infrastructure project based in Otterbourne.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Construction Manager will be responsible for leading site construction teams, managing supplier performance and ensuring all works are delivered in compliance with project objectives, health and safety standards and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities of the Construction Manager:
· Lead and manage site construction teams to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget
· Facilitate construction kick-off meetings and lead project health checks
· Manage supplier performance across safety, quality and programme delivery
· Review and approve RAMS, ensuring all documentation is suitable and compliant
· Lead Constructability Reviews, Project Rehearsals and Fit for Assembly sign-off activities
· Drive innovation and continuous improvement throughout project delivery
· Champion sustainability initiatives, including reducing waste and embodied carbon
· Ensure contractual and commercial notices are raised and communicated effectively to project teams
· Support resource planning activities, including labour, plant and materials requirements
· Promote a positive safety culture where teams feel empowered to raise concerns
· Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
· Work collaboratively with project stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
Required Skills and Experience of the Construction Manager:
· Degree or equivalent qualification in a Construction-related discipline
· APMP qualification or equivalent desirable
· Temporary Works experience and/or qualification
· Proven project management experience within a construction environment
· Extensive experience delivering large-scale construction programmes
· Water and/or wastewater industry experience essential
· Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling and programme management
· Thorough knowledge of CDM Regulations and Construction Health & Safety requirements
· Experience managing multidisciplinary site teams and supply chain partners
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to deliver projects to challenging time, cost and quality objectives
· Commercial awareness with strong operational and technical capabilities
· Proactive and delivery-focused approach with strong leadership skills
