Construction Manager – CAT A Commercial Fit-Out

Location: Major Project, South East England

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering a flagship commercial development.

This role will take ownership of the CAT A fit-out package, overseeing the successful delivery of multiple floorplates from core services through to landlord handover. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing all CAT A floor works, including:

• Raised access floors
• Suspended ceilings
• Core MEP services distribution
• Life safety systems
• Landlord finishes
• Testing, commissioning and handover

Working closely with project management, MEP, design and structural teams, you'll coordinate subcontractors, manage trade interfaces and ensure each floor is delivered fully complete, compliant and ready for handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and quality on site.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in line with programme, drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate CAT A activities across multiple floorplates, ensuring efficient sequencing of works.
• Oversee the integration of architectural and MEP packages, resolving clashes before they impact programme.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement corrective actions where required.
• Chair and contribute to daily and weekly production meetings.
• Review drawings and specifications, providing practical buildability input where necessary.
• Liaise with design teams to resolve technical issues and ensure coordinated delivery.
• Support testing, commissioning and inspections through to practical completion.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and programme updates.
• Work alongside commercial teams to monitor package performance and cost control.
• Drive quality throughout the project, ensuring snag-free handover of completed areas.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Construction Manager who can demonstrate:

• Proven experience delivering CAT A commercial fit-out projects for a main contractor.
• Strong knowledge of MEP coordination, commissioning and services integration.
• Experience managing complex commercial projects through to completion.
• Excellent leadership, organisation and subcontractor management skills.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme management.
• HNC (or equivalent) in Construction or a related discipline.
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS Managers Card and First Aid qualification.
• Membership of, or working towards, MCIOB or a similar professional body is advantageous.
