The Role
As Construction Manager, you'll lead a team of construction engineers and inspectors, overseeing EPC construction delivery and contractor performance while ensuring projects meet safety, quality, cost and programme requirements.
You'll provide construction and constructability input from design through commissioning, working within a complex COMAH-regulated, high-hazard environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead safe, compliant and cost-effective EPC construction delivery.
- Manage EPC contractors against contractual, engineering and HSE requirements.
- Provide constructability and construction input during design.
- Monitor progress, programme, costs and KPIs, driving corrective action where required.
- Resolve design, interface and construction issues through commissioning.
- Champion Triple Goal Zero, HSSE performance and audit readiness.
- Drive construction efficiency, cost improvement and digitalisation.
- Provide construction expertise through pre-commissioning and commissioning.
- Maintain required site authorisations, including MOC, Authorised Engineer and Gas Testing.
- Support on-call, shift and additional-hours requirements when project delivery demands.
About You
- A relevant Bachelor's degree; project management/H&S qualifications desirable.
- Significant experience delivering large-scale oil & gas, petrochemical or energy projects in UK/COMAH environments.
- Strong knowledge of COMAH, CDM and UK construction legislation.
- Experience with modern construction and modularisation techniques.
- Proven contractor, package, budget and construction management experience.
- Strong stakeholder, communication and governance skills.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary and unionised environments.
- Good IT/project management software skills.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work shifts/on-call when required.
