Tata Steel’s largest UK works, Port Talbot, are seeking an experienced L4 Construction Scheduler on a fixed term basis. The successful applicant will be a PMI scheduling professional holding APM PPC and APM EVM certifications. This position allows a competent Construction Scheduler to manage detailed project schedules within a multi disciplined team during the construction phase of site projects. 

On this occasion, only applicants with FULL Right to work in the UK already in place can be considered. 

Role: Scheduler (Construction L4)

Hours: Mon - Fri, 36.5 hours per week 

Location: TATA Steel, Port Talbot, SA13 2NG, United Kingdom 

Rate: Competitive and based on experience (inside IR35)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and optimising Level 4 construction schedules aligned to the Level 3 integrated schedule

  • Monitoring project progress, updating schedules and resolving scheduling issues with stakeholders

  • Developing and finalising Level 4 commissioning schedules and integrating with the master schedule

  • Coordinating with project teams to gather information, update schedules and track milestones

  • Monitoring site progress, identifying delays, risks and opportunities to improve delivery

  • Supporting contractor payment applications through validation against Level 4 schedules and contract rules

  • Implementing schedule changes and managing communication through the project change control process

  • Analysing schedule performance and producing regular progress, trend and issue reports

  • Managing project timelines using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and other scheduling tools.

Essential requirements:

  • Educated to HND/NVQ and/or Degree standard in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline 

  • PMI-SP credential

  • APM MQ or PPQ qualification 

  • APM EVM certification

  • APM PPC certification 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skill

  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (due to nature of the site)

  • Good IT literacy especially with MS Office 

  • Basic knowledge of project planning tools 

  • Previous experience forecasting and delivering on multi disciplined projects
