Construction Planner

North West

£50,000-£60,000 + Package

We're looking to appoint a Construction Planner to support a construction group with many years of delivering high‑quality residential schemes across multiple regions. Under new ownership and a modern senior leadership team, the business is entering a major phase of strategic growth, with planning becoming central to how projects are coordinated, governed and delivered across the group.

You'll develop, maintain and monitor construction programmes across a varied residential portfolio, bringing structure, clarity and technical rigour to programme development. Working closely with operational, commercial and technical teams, you'll produce detailed programmes from pre‑construction through to completion, ensuring they're realistic, coordinated and updated in line with progress on site.

You'll engage with project teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients, identify risks and delays early, and keep programmes aligned with agreed milestones. Asta Powerproject proficiency is essential, along with strong planning experience within the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme development - Develop detailed construction programmes from pre‑construction through to completion, producing and maintaining baseline and fully coordinated project programmes.
  • Progress monitoring - Track progress against agreed programmes, identify delays early, update programmes and provide clear progress reports to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Team coordination - Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Commercial Teams, subcontractors and consultants to ensure programmes remain realistic, aligned and deliverable.
  • Risk and mitigation - Identify programme risks, manage critical path activities and develop practical mitigation strategies to keep delivery on track.
  • Tender and pre‑construction - Support tender and pre‑construction planning, including methodology, sequencing, subcontractor programme review and short‑, medium‑ and long‑term planning.
  • Programme governance - Produce accurate programme updates, maintain project records, support commercial teams with delay‑related information and attend project meetings to provide planning support.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven background as a Planner within the construction industry, ideally with exposure to residential construction or housebuilding.
  • Strong knowledge of construction programming and planning, with essential Asta Powerproject proficiency and experience producing programmes from pre‑construction through to completion.
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, critical path analysis and programme risk identification.
  • Comfortable working closely with site and commercial teams, with strong communication, organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, competing deadlines and maintain accurate programme information using Microsoft Office.
  • Relevant construction qualification or equivalent experience, supported by a full UK driving licence.

What's In It For You

  • Basic Salary up to £60,000
  • Strong package and benefits
  • Direct access to senior leadership and the opportunity to grow into a senior planning role
  • Group‑wide exposure across a varied portfolio
  • Clear progression as the business continues to grow
