Construction Project Manager
Our client is a well-established design and build construction and MEP contractor delivering high-quality engineering, construction, civil engineering, refurbishment and fit-out projects across the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join their Construction Division. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional to take ownership of multiple projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The role combines both site and office-based responsibilities and offers excellent opportunities for career progression within a growing and employee-focused business.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Programme Management
- Develop, manage and monitor project programmes across multiple construction projects.
- Plan, organise and coordinate labour resources to meet project requirements.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety and programme performance.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records throughout the project lifecycle.
Contractor & Supplier Management
- Procure and manage subcontractors, consultants and specialist suppliers.
- Oversee material procurement and ensure deliveries align with project schedules.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Commercial & Budget Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Monitor expenditure against agreed budgets and programmes.
- Manage contractor variations, cost changes and associated reporting.
- Provide regular financial updates to senior management.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all projects.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with specifications, building regulations and quality standards.
- Monitor site teams and subcontractors to ensure adherence to operational procedures.
- Support the collection and management of project H&S documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across health, safety and quality performance.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' construction industry experience.
- SMSTS qualification.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong knowledge of construction project delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
